WHAT MAKE US A SAFER COVID-19 ACCOMMODATION
Since the beginning of the outbreak, we have made a few changes and upgraded to higher hygiene standards for the safety of our guests as well as our own. We have also used our lockdown time to redecorate and improve the cottage amenities. These improvements, which are at no extra cost to you, cannot be reflected in our standard rates or standard and your appreciation on social media is always welcome.
The Cottage is self-contained and totally independent with its own private access and veranda.
The Cottage is equipped with its own separate air conditioning unit
We provide contact-less room service and check-in / check-out procedures.
Our calendar is blocked for 72hrs at RED LIGHT and 24hrs under ORANGE and GREEN LIGHTS before your arrival
Bio-Cleaning of all touchable surfaces including handles, knobs, switches, remotes, handrails using hospital grade disinfectant specially tested for Covid-19.
Fabrics are steamed- Linen are machine washed to higher temperatures
We follow NZ Health Ministry guidelines, self distancing and provide Covid-19 contact Tracer QR code at entrance.
We provide arriving guests with PPE including hand sanitiser, gloves, medical wipes and mask and no-touch rubbish bins.
SELF ISOLATION for COVID-19 FRONT-LINE MEDICAL WORKERS AND RETURNING RESIDENTS
Because we provide a safer Covid-19 accommodation we can now accept all medical Covid-19 front line medical workers and NZ returning residents in need of accommodation as long as they follow proper self-isolation procedures.
COVID-19 COTTAGE REQUIREMENTS FOR GUESTS & VISITORS
In order to safely manage the situation, all visitors and guests without exception are required to:
Provide a screenshot or photo of their double Covid-19 vaccination certificate and matching Driver's Licence or Passport before arrival. (Alternatively, please provide a monitored Covid-19 test done within 72 hours showing negative result).
Let us know their time of arrival to facilitate contact-less check-in.
Keep a safe 1-metre distance from hosts and employees and avoid shaking hands.
Wear a mask when on property common grounds when in presence of hosts and other visitors.
Wash or sanitise your hands on each arrival
We recommend that guests follow the NZ Ministry of Health standards and Government safety requirements regarding personal hygiene, self isolation and movement restriction as applicable.
PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE PROPERTY IF:
You are not fully vaccinated for Covid-19 (from 01/12/2021) or do not have a negative test result done within 72 hours.
You recently arrived from a foreign country without complying with NZ Covid-19 and health official requirements..
You have been in direct or indirect contact with a known or suspected Covid positive case
You presently are or have been tested positive for covid-19 within the past 10 days.\
You are, despite full vaccination experiencing Covid-19 or flu symptoms such as shortness of breath, runny nose, cough, fever, loss of smell or are feeling generally unwell. In order to access the property you will first need to call us immediately, consult a doctor, submit to a Covid test and place yourselves into self-isolation.

Before entering the property under Self-isolation, guests must warn the hosts, scan the Covid-19 QR tracer App, call the Ministry of Health and consult a doctor immediately. They also must strictly respect the Cottage Requirements, wear a mask at ALL TIMES when outside and remain inside the Cottage or its veranda, except when going to a medical facility or going for exercise walks in non-populated area. Shopping for food must be done only by house contact-less delivery. Contact with hosts and other persons is prohibited and visitors are not allowed. We can provide contact-less room service as well as grocery for a fee if necessary.
All symptomatic guests about to arrive or already staying at the Cottage should remain under isolation until check-out time or the until new test results are confirmed negative.
NOTE: conditions and extra charges ($200.00 one-off extra bio-cleaning surcharge) automatically apply to Self-isolated guests.
We reserve the right to ask a guest to leave the property immediately without refund if he or she is not complying with our Cottage rules. Please note that a NZ$500.00 penalty may apply for non compliance with our Covid-19 rules, self-isolating rule or if a guest is entering the property without revealing a known symptomatic condition or a positive case. This will partly cover bio-cleaning expenses and 72 hours of property shut down.
For the safety of our guests and our own, the salt water spa pool is not available during the Covid-19 pandemic.
